I have had the pleasure of knowing Bob Stewart since 2011
and have worked alongside him as co-conductor, co-artistic director, composer
and simply singing beside my friend and colleague in a choir or around the
piano. Bob is a diverse and skilled musician, a kind-hearted man, a passionate
advocate for the arts and music, an academic, a practitioner and a planner. He
is a creative dreamer who has visions and makes them work. He first hired me to
compose a piece for Melbourne High School’s Speech Night in 2012. He made sure
that every step of the journey was one that gave me inspiration and artistic
freedom. He knows what works but allows those around him to shine.
Bob has been the choral clinician for the Catholic
Education Music Camp held in Rockhampton for both 2016 and 2018. He is an easy-to-work-with, fun, professional musician. In the space of two days this quick thinking, witty guy

Bob Stewart attended our annual choir camp in 2018 as our specialist guest conductor. He was inspirational to the students, given very clear and precise directions in such a friendly and enjoyable manner. The students’ tone improved with his focus on good singing techniques. Their knowledge and understanding of the music was enhanced with his informative explanations and their work as an ensemble improved under his precise conducting skills. His presence at our camp was also valuable professional development for the teachers who attended who rigorously observed and took notes on his clever techniques. Bob was wonderful to have on our camp and I would thoroughly recommend him to any choir.
